Francis Dodd R.A. 1874-1949, was a landscape and portrait painter and printmaker. He trained at the Glasgow School of Art, he travelled around Europe including France , Italy and Spain, and was appointed a war artist in WW1. He had a considerable reputation for his drawing and watercolour skills of which this picture of the Thames towpath is one.
