Achille Formis Befani 1832-1906, was an Italian painter. He was a talented singer who switched career in his early 30's to become a painter. He trained in Milan and travelled repeatedly to the Near East, by the 1870's he included landscapes around Lake Maggiore and Lombardy. He exhibited work in Italy, Berlin and Munich during his career until his death in Milan in 1906.
