A lady and a Hansom cab

French post impressionist school, this painting which is oil on canvas laid on board is in the French style of the post impressionist era. It depicts a lady and a hansom cab a very traditional 19th Century subject but according to the reverse side the picture it was dated as '68 which is slightly mysterious in that the canvas could determine the date to be either 1868 or 1968, it is in our opinion the later date. The painting is signed but again we were unable to identify the artist, this is a small picture which may well expose the painter who will be painting in his or her familiar manner. It is not necessarily a French artist as there are so many painters painting in the Post Impressionist manner and with an unfamiliar signature this is described as a general guide.
